Levain Boulangerie : a pastry affair…

Levain Boulangerie Patisserie

This pleasant bakery has probably been around for quite sometime. Its a late discovery by me but better late than never :)

I’m a huge fan of bread. I love bread and when Rita suggested for us to go here, there is now way i could say no. Although a bigger group would be better cos there is just too many things on display to try. And there is only so much bread one can eat. So, after this visit, i did go back again 2 weeks later with mom on tow :P

Levain is slightly tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city, along Jalan Delima, Off Jln Imbi (beside Fukuya japanese rest.). Housed in a bungalow setup with both indoor and out door sitting.

All I can say is, this place makes non-bread lover irresistible to bread. Rita is a non-bread lover and she went nutters when we got there. Bread and pastry aside, Levain has got more to offer ie, pasta, soup, salads…etc.

One feature that struck me is that they had a stone oven…how cool is that. And in KL!

The mushroom soup with the croissant is a FANTASTIC COMBO.  Must try!…

Alright, enuff words….on with the pics.

Make sure you go earlier on weekends although this place opens from 8am to 8pm. A slight warning though, Levain is perpetually crowded on Sundays :D

Enjoy!

Went to Pavilion after Levain…and saw the storm clouds brewing and thought the colours of the sky was pretty nice. :)

Enjoy the weekend!

Bridge Bar @ G City Hotel, Jln Ampang

Gosh its been a while since i’ve blogged anything at all! So much happenings, so little time.

Last Saturday, we, the Heng Tais’ to be went out for dinner with Chee Heng to meet his lovely wife, Jovine. We had Bak Kut Teh dinner at Jln Imbi and then Chee Heng said he’ll bring us to this discreet and exclusive joint for drinks.

Interesting…

And discreet and exclusive it is!

Bridge Bar – in G City Hotel, Jln Ampang. Nestled above this 29 storey building, is a Bridge Bar on the 28th Floor. And it really is a bridge in between the two structures of G Tower. There are glass panels at certain areas on the  floor that allows you to look all the way down. Those with fear of heights might feel a wee bit woozy hehe.

Bridge Bar is accessible only to its hotel guest and its 300 members.

Okay..enough talk. Some photos to show! Sorry the quality this time around is up to par. I got a bit lazy…hehe..

Many thanks to Chee Heng for bringing us here!

These photos are really creatively done.

Three circular lounge areas on the way out.

Great night out guys. We should come out more often. :)

Have a great week everyone!

My hands on the iPad. Magical…

Lucky me to have a friend who bought an iPad from the US.

When he brought it out for us to take a look, it was still untouched, meaning no songs, no movies, no photos, nothing.

It was in its virgin state.

It was everything i iMagined it to be. It felt so right in hands of a intuitive consumer. And with time, the possibilities that will unfold will change we the way we use a computer. Just like how the iPhone has changed the way we use a mobile phone. We now do so many things with it. Heck, we can even check in Malaysia Airlines and choose our seats!

Surfing the net with the iPad is how it should be. Sitting with the iPad on your lap, sipping your coffee, swiping left-right for scrolling through photos.

Its magical…

And it will change the way we do things in time to come. The rest of the players out there will need to play catchup soon.

Words wont really do any justice so I’m just gonna post some photos of it and say…

GO GET ONE!

Thanks Chee Heng for the giving me a go at it and Have a good week all!

Typing with this is a breeze…you just feel it instantly. Feels solid too!

(yes i had to photoshop over the screen cos the rest were surfing something thats almost 18sx…:P )

Self isolation : Destination Perhentian Island

Couple of weeks back, i decided to have a quick getaway on my own to gather my thoughts and just be away from everything. Ive always wanted to do it and when the oppurtunity came up, i went fort it. Initially it was supposed to be a solo trip, but one of my best mate insisted he tagged along. But it was cool since we’re both fuss-free people and we sorted out the trip within hours.

All i brought was half a backpack of clothes, handheld camera, a book, my phone and myself. First time i boarded a plane with flip-flops and bermudas. I just winged it. And it was amazing!

Kota Bahru is a real eye opener. As the only kampung i know are the ones in Malacca and Cherating, Kota Bahru does give a different feel to the word kampung.

And so we boarded the boat thats gonna ferry us to my isolation. :)

It was my second time on the island. And it still looks as good. This time quieter as we put outselves up at Coral Bay.

This jetty reall set the mood for the getaway

the Suite we got was a really good deal…the whole house! lolz..

not to mention the view it came with.

Whats a getaway wout alcohol? The cork broke and we removed the window handle to use the screw as an opener. Alcoholics always…always find a way..lolz

Music and booze...thats pretty much all that is needed.

As it was off peak, we pretty much made friends with almost everyone who was at the resort. This internet cafe next to the resort served as a meeting point for all. The indian guy who runs it is from…of all places, Puchong :P

Some pics i took at night…completely unedit. I thought the pics turned out pretty cool..:P

The next day was all about sun, sea and snorkling…seriously, all u need on a getaway like this is portable speakers, ipod and some sunblock.

We made our way to long beach as well, huge waves with current what almost caught me..scary but beautiful.

Some friends we made out at sea…:)

The highlight of this trip was the sunset on the 2nd day. To add to the beauty of it, i caught a video of two planes flying towards each other. They look like stars about to collide.

I shall end this blogpost with a series of sunset pictures and a video of the ‘stars’ colliding. :)

And here are some other pics documented throughout the trip. :)

Enjoy and have a good week ahead all :)

Iveco and the Reds

I dont know how, I dont know why, I ended up collecting all the Ferrari models from Shell. And im not exactly a Ferrari fan. Maybe its cos i love cars, and this was cheap to collect. Maybe subconsciously I’m a fan. Maybe cos its just red.

So ReD ReD ReD :)

During the company exchange gig, while i was shopping for the present, I accidentally bought myself one. Its a Iveco trailer. The ones that being used to haul the Ferrari F1 cars during race days.

I love it. Its a 1:38 scale model which now sits with the rest of the Reds at the top of my desk. :)

I love them all honestly. Maybe I’m an undiscovered Ferrari after all. Besides, whats not to love about those lovely italian ladies? :)

Iveco trailer looks cool doesnt it? I wouldnt mind one with the Prancing Horse logo :)
