A Ramen date out!
I thank Steve Jobs for 7 things.
I’m not the type to get emotional when a celebrity or a famous person dies. Partly because death is a destination we all share. Some sooner than later. Thats all. But I’d have to say Steve Job’s passing pretty much hit a deep spot. Being in the design field, I feel blessed to be able to have been influenced by a man I would compare to some of the world’s geniuses and many other great people ie Gandhi. Like the rest, I dont think there will ever be another like him. At least not in my lifetime.
I am a convert from Windows. What influenced me the most about Apple is not only its many products’ physical beauty, but its ability to make users understand how it works from the get-go that puts a smile on your face. A truly holistic design approach. No other brand gives you this aesthetic and emotional pull.
To celebrate his life, there is 7 things I would like to thank him for.
7 because its the number of perfection.
7 because god made the world in 7 days.
7 is a personal number for me.
7 colours of the rainbow
7 days in a week.
7 wonders of the world.
7 is the number of security, safety and rest.
1. In all things we do, we must have passion. It brings things to a whole new level. Good to GREAT.
2. Focus on the big picture. Dont budge when people say you cant. Show them you CAN.
3. Design is not just about product beauty. Its about building a design-focused and design-integrated organization that will eventually spearhead innovations.
4. If you didn’t get it the first time, try again. Never settle.
5. Trust your instincts. You can only connect the dots looking backwards later so trust yourself.
6. Dont waste time living someone else’s life. Live yours.
7. Showing the world what great design can do.
I’ve never met him personally. But he’s definitely left a mark on me. And his passing has just inspired me more than ever. Steve has done more for design than anyone else could ever have.

(I know this place has been around for sometime)
So there was this one day where Rita said ‘eh my boss brought me to this small Udon shop in Taman Desa. Damn nice. Small and authentic….’
Then i went once with her and my parents for lunch. No pics unfortunately and then made another trip there with Edwyn and Rita for dinner. This time armed with my camera, i took some pics to share!
I must say, for a small establishment, the food is just so good. No complaints of anything at all. Only downside is, the Hotpot and Yakitori is only available in the evening. The Yakitoris’ are RM3 a stick and really goes well with beer or sake which is available too. As for the Udon, i swear is smoother than a lot of other jap shops. They even wholesale it too!
Parking in that area is easy, quite, and you get a view of KLCC too haha. Really made a working night enjoyable.
