(Another detour from the supposedly HK adventure blogpost. Soon i promise!)
So we’ve all now heard of Empire Gallery. The new neighbour mall in Subang Jaya. The one who’s causing traffic to build up at the section opposite my house. Not that it matters since im just within walking distance. I have yet to conclude what I think about the place though. Subang Parade next door, the mall i grew up with all my life is still a winner in my eyes. Although Empire spots more flashy retail outlets. But so does the other major malls too.
What this place has to offer the residents of Subang Jaya however, is an awesome small lil cafe tucked at the basement level of Empire. Next to Jaya Grocer.
Whisk.
Yes…Whisk. Finally, a cafe worthy of the residents surrounding it. There’s too many starbucks and coffee bean which doubles up as a semi-cybercafe at anytime of the day taking away the essence of what a cafe should be.
Whisk is boutique. An essence of what a cafe should be. The placement of things in it, the environment, the scent, the music and its small sized setup makes it perfect. I’m just ecstatic. And its opposite my house! Some people told me ‘what i dont like is cannot smoke..so i wont go’. In my head, ‘okay..you can go to starbucks, mamak or coffeebean. Your loss. Not mine.’
I’m always in search of a good latte and Whisk cuts it perfect. What surprised me was the Mochacinno con la Nutella. I’m just blown away by it. Not forgetting the macarons which they’ve become so popular for.
Okay peeps. Time for pics. They dont do the place justice. Go visit!
